Two Small but Incredible Examples from the Past Week

My last blog was an anthem to letting go of expectations and sitting in a place of patience in order to receive ALL of the wonderful things that are in store for you regardless of the source, including information.

Here are just a couple of examples of two surprising yet perfect ways in which information that I needed flowed to me since I wrote that a week or so ago.

I was shopping at a local bookstore for a specific book to offer as a birthday gift. Since it is a popular title I was able to find it quickly on the shelves. Given my tendency to lose myself in a book store I was very satisfied with the efficiency of my errand thus far. The book was on the bottom shelf so I bent down to grab a copy. As I lifted it fluidly from its place on the low shelf I did a double take as there was somehow a second, and different, book sliding off the shelf at the same time. After a few startled seconds I realized that it had been “abandoned”, placed horizontally on top of the 5 or so copies of the title I was ostensibly in the store to purchase, and thus previously hidden from my angle of vision. By removing the first book I had dislodged the second which then literally then fell into my hands.

As I read the title I smiled to myself since it is always a special moment when you realize you have just caught something wonderful in your net. I bought both volumes and am reading the  “surprise” book one page at a time because otherwise I will EXPLODE (see below) from hearing so much of what I need to hear at the moment.

The second incident also occurred during the birthday present shopping trip but in a different store. (In order for you to fully understand my experience you must know that in MY mind the number 1000 signifies an auspicious time to commence a fresh sequence of events with passion and confidence.) As this was one of those days when my desire for reassurance about my future was 15 on a scale of 1 - 10, my level of anxiety was somewhat elevated. I was therefore diligently applying all of the mindfulness techniques that I know of in an effort to reduce it. My efforts were rewarded as it was precisely due to my increased presence that I was able to recognize and understand the message I was intended to receive when, having not found what I was looking for in another section of the store, I found myself staring at a HUGE wall of 1000 piece puzzles. (This is not another birthday gift spoiler by the way.)

Surprise ending: now that all of this information that you needed has flowed to you while you sat in your “place of patience” it may very well be time for you to get busy with commencing a fresh sequence of events with passion and confidence. If you require further assistance in recognizing the signs then read on to discover the unmistakable "tell” that some action on your behalf may be required.

Besides reading the surprise book only one page at a time, I also have to put it out of sight in between sessions since even just seeing the cover induces a physiological reaction equivalent to having imbibed roughly 500 coffees (slight exaggeration) and from which I need about 24 hours (no exaggeration) to recover.

You will know because your heart will beat madly, your palms (and armpits) will be drenched and you will feel scared and you may very well be scared but NOT for the reasons that you might think. As Marianne Williamson so powerfully observes:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure”.

Sawubona my friends!! Are you there? If so then please respond by writing Ngikhona on the contact sheet. Thank you. Much love.
